The distribution of hemagglutination inhibition antibody for Japanese encephalitis in residents of Seoul areas

Abstract

|
In this works, serums of 498 persons in Seoul and its vicinity were studied with the results that hemagglutination inhibiting(HI) antibody for Japanese encephalitis virus was detectable in 8.4% of the residents in 1974. The summary of results are as follows. 1. In the group of age 1-10, 12.8% were HI antibody positive with higher positive rate in male (23.1%) than in female(0%). 2. In the group of age 11-20, highest value(22.4%) was obtained with 18.9% in male and 33.4% in female. 3. In the group of age above 21, no considerable difference was noticed among age groups but with about 5-7% HI antibody positiveness.
